Book 9 (16 pages) Phonogram words are written next to the images without the use of a list. There are ninety spelling words in this book.
Book 10 (26 pages) This book is designed for reading sentences and and choosing the correct word to complete each sentence. The child is now reading on his/her own.
Journals Encourage the child to make his/her own books. Staple together ten journal pages to make each book. To use the journal, tell the child to draw anything s/he wants on the top portion of the page and then bring the journal to you. Ask the child what s/he wants to write about the drawing. I simply say, "What shall I write?"
